If you have any health queries or would like to report a health issue with your dog please reach out and contact the Poodle Council's Toy Poodle Health Co Ordinator representative
Dana Grant.

If your Poodle has been diagnosed with a serious medical condition by your vet then please inform the breeder. They will want to know if anything arises within their breeding line. This is where the role of responsible breeders lies, as reputable breeders care about those they have bred and have been placed into homes. Those breeders or 'greeders' that are just in it for the sole purpose of making a profit will have no desire to want to know if any problems arise in the dogs the have placed into loving homes. Reputable breeders come with a guarantee that they will want to know if problems arise, due to the majority of these breeders having many many years of experience they can give you any help and advice to you along the way.

The Poodle Council only supports responsible breeders and they tend to be those within the dog showing community. The Poodle Council does not support any breeder who knowingly breeds Poodles crossed with any other breed or the breeding of Merle Poodles.

With modern day advances in health testing, breeders can test for many health issues, there are still some health issues that are not at that stage and some that will never be able to be DNA tested for.

Below is a list of known health problems within the 3 sizes of Poodles.
